The Story Behind Organic Lilac

My journey to better health began in college when a nutrition class opened my eyes to the harmful ingredients in our food. It was a wake-up call, and I knew I had to make a change. I started replacing processed foods with whole, nutrient-rich ingredients like fresh fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats such as olive oil and beef tallow. I also began cooking more at home, moving away from fast food and dining out.

As I embraced better food choices, I started looking at other aspects of my life and worked to eliminate toxins wherever I could. I switched to non-toxic beauty products, including–you name it–makeup, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body wash, hand soaps, and shaving oil. I also replaced my toxic toothpaste with a natural fluoride-free alternative, opted for a plastic-free razor, and changed out my nylon toothbrush for a plastic-free boar bristle one.

In my skincare routine, I now make my own products using organic oils, such as salt scrubs, whipped body butter, face wash, chapstick, perfume, hair oil, lash serum, and more. I even make my own laundry detergent, ensuring it’s free from toxic chemicals. I have really embraced the natural way of life and enjoy the freedom in creating your own products. 

In the kitchen, I replaced plastic with glassware, swapped Teflon pans for cast iron and stainless steel, and stopped drinking from plastic bottles. I also got rid of paraffin wax candles and started making my own beeswax candles at home. To nourish my body further, I planted a garden. I became more conscious of the fabrics I put on my body as well, prioritizing organic cotton clothing that’s both skin-friendly and environmentally sustainable.

These changes have opened my eyes to how toxins were affecting my life. I realized that adopting a holistic approach to health was key. By making mindful choices in what I eat, use, and wear, I’ve experienced incredible improvements in my energy, skin, and overall well-being. Now, I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned, so you can embrace a toxin-free, holistic lifestyle too.
